Roadmap
What comes next for CommonOS.
CommonOS is a starter build. These are the next pieces, roughly in order.
Install
- A Homebrew formula for
brew install. - A Docker image with a compose file that also runs Postgres.
Dashboard
- Air + Glass canvas. Monitor, Chat, Costs and Profiles screens: mostly Pearl and Frost, with glass only where you talk to the agent.
- A login, so the dashboard can listen beyond
127.0.0.1.
Plugins
- Calendar and email integrations, with
write-risk tools that ask first. - A Telegram gateway, with sender pairing.
- Cron: start a fresh turn for a profile on a schedule.
- An MCP client, so profiles can use tools from MCP servers.
- Spending caps per tag in CommonBill.
- Semantic memory with pgvector.
CommonAgent
- Streaming replies, firing
on_stream_delta, streamed to the dashboard. - Context compression like Hermes: summarize the middle turns at 50% and 85% of the context window, keep the last 20, then fire
post_compaction. - Fallback providers on 429 and 5xx errors.
- External hooks from commands, using Hermes’s shell-hook contract, then WASM hooks.
Already reserved
Three hook points exist for this work and fire nothing yet: on_stream_delta, post_compaction and on_session_finalize.
